چکیده

This paper describes the application for activity recognition of two-body interactions by using body sensor networks (BSN) and presents a model to give coordination analysis of their cooperation. A monitoring platform based on BSN is established and acceleration data is collected from wearable inertial sensors. Each individual’s signal is divided into several segments, and then recognized corresponding to different stages of movements. The stages’ synchronization between two people could be considered as the principal criteria to evaluate their cooperation quality. Several important performance parameters are also given to provide the necessary feedback for these activities in our system. A gait experiment of two-body interactions was performed on the sensor monitoring platform and the experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Activity/posture Recognition Using Wearable Sensors Placed on Different Body Locations

This paper presents an approach to activity/posture recognition using wearable sensors. The sensors consist of 3-axis accelerometer, 3D gyroscope and 3D magnetometer (3D compass). Several approaches of activity and posture recognition are analyzed, varying the number, type of the sensors and using different body placements. The effect of these different scenarios on the accuracy is investigated...

Activity Recognition Invariant to Sensor Orientation with Wearable Motion Sensors

Most activity recognition studies that employ wearable sensors assume that the sensors are attached at pre-determined positions and orientations that do not change over time. Since this is not the case in practice, it is of interest to develop wearable systems that operate invariantly to sensor position and orientation. We focus on invariance to sensor orientation and develop two alternative tr...
